Finally Finished!

I just wanted to let everyone know that 175 Photographers, A Collection of Contemporary Photography from JPGmag.com has finally gone to press. I uploaded the book yesterday and as soon as I receive the first copy and make sure everything is all right with it I will make it available to the public. Should take about another week if all goes well. Maybe by April 1st. Here’s the cover!

Down to the wire.

I am waiting on the last three image files. Hopefully these will be in hand before the end of the day tomorrow. Finalize the acknowledgements and do a very careful proof read twice, then it’s off to press. I’d like to think I’ll have the first copy by the end of next week, certainly before the end of this month. Whew!  We’re almost there folks.

Almost there.

I know everyone is anxiously awaiting the news that the book has gone to press, that it’s ready for you to see. I appreciate your enthusiasm and patience. I am still trying to tie up a few loose ends and fill the last few remaining spots left by the few people who did not follow through on their commitments to supply their image files. It’s turning out to be rather daunting and frustrating since I’m asking the last few people to respond rather quickly. And a big thank you to a couple of folks who sent me additional files almost immediately after my asking. You were a very big help.  I’m still waiting on about eight images. These, unfortunately, hold up finishing the layout and acknowledgments pages. But we’re very, very close and it will be a stunning collection when it’s finally done. If you still owe me information requested about your images (title, date, etc.) please get that to me as soon as you can.

Thanks to all of you who have helped and are patiently waiting. Maybe I’ll get my taxes done before the deadline too.

Three more days to deadline

I am still waiting on about twenty four people to follow through or contact me regarding the images they have committed to the book.  Please, if you are waiting to the last minute, don’t let it slip by. I will begin filling your spots in the layout on Sunday, the 1st. I cannot wait any longer.  For those who have sent me your images this week, thanks again. If you still need to send your information for captions, please get that to me as well so I can finish up the text. If you have not sent me your URL for the acknowledgements and you want one listed, make sure I have that too.

Deadline is almost here. I’m pleading now!

I still am waiting on 45 people for image files. I hate to keep pestering you with emails, but the deadline is almost here and if I do not have the files by February 28th, I will have to assume you are not planning to follow through.  I will contact other photographers to take your place in the layout.  So please! Don’t get left out at this stage of the project.  Please send me those files.  Thanks.

If Your Having Trouble Sending Your File

Some people have told me that they have tried to send image files only to find my mailbox full.  If you have encountered problems, please use the upload sites at YOUSENDIT or SENDSPACE or if you still have problems, try my email at georgecannon@georgecannonphotography.com.

I apologize for sending reminders if you have already tried to send your files and could not get through.

Still Need Your Image Files

Happy Valentine’s Day to all.  It’s February 14th and I am still waiting on 73 image files and information for those. To all of you who have sent me your files, thank you again. The layout is looking really good. I hope everyone will follow through so I don’t have to rearrange the pages. I really like the flow. After all the images are in and the layout is set, I can prepare the acknowledgements  and contents page based on the pages as they are set. If I do not have a URL for you, and you would like one listed in the acknowledgements, make sure to send that to me. I will send out one more round of reminders this weekend to those who still have not sent in their files. The deadline is February 28th, so don’t get left out!  Thanks again to all of you.
